According to a report from Regional Development Association of East Central Kansas President Chuck Scott, a lot of interest has been expressed in property located within the city of Emporia’s Industrial Parks.
In fact, Scott says based on the interest that has been expressed, specifically within Park III and Park III South, there is the potential for most, if not all, of the available acreage to be under contract in some form in the near future. When asked for further details on this potential, Scott says he could not disclose any specific information, however, he did note that any potential projects would involve either industrial expansion or recruitment opportunities.
Scott’s comments came as part of the recent Emporia Enterprises meeting Wednesday afternoon during which time members held two executive sessions. Following the second session, the board approved transferring the deed for lot one within Park III to the city of Emporia.
The Regional Development Association of East Central Kansas Board of Directors meets at 7 am Friday, also at the Trusler Business Center. Topics for this meeting will include Flint Hills Technical College’s master plan initiative to support regional workforce needs, committee updates and term expirations for board appointees.
