For the second time this week, the Emporia High boys soccer team shut out an opponent.
The Spartans defeated Wichita South Thursday night, 5-0.
Brayden Sailer scored the first goal in the third minute.
Carter Granado made it 2-0 in the 12th minute. Granado says it was a good week for the Spartans, outscoring their opponents, 7-0.
Aaron Rodriguez made it 3-0 in the 23rd minute.
Kevin Magana scored the final two goals, the first in the 36th and the second in the 77th minute.
Coach Victor Ibarra says it was a total team effort.
Emporia High is now 8-6 on the season. The Spartans host St. Mary’s Academy on Tuesday.
