The #8 Central Missouri women’s soccer team scored the match’s only goal with just under 20 minutes to play in a 1-0 victory over Emporia State Friday afternoon at the ESU Soccer Pitch. The Jennies had nine first-half shots to ESU’s four but couldn’t find the back of the net. UCM outshot E-State 15-8 overall in the match. ESU head coach Bryan Sailer said the Hornet offense needed to work the edges of the field more to generate more offense.
Sailer said the Jenny goal resulted from allowing too many corner kicks.
ESU falls to 4-5-4 on the year and returns to action for their final home match of the year Sunday against Missouri Southern. Kickoff is set for 2:00 p.m. at the ESU Soccer Pitch.
