Olpe stayed undefeated in district play and improved to 5-2 with their 35-6 victory over Jayhawk Linn.
The Eagles would score first with 4:24 remaining in the first quarter, behind a 8 yard rush from Ethan Redeker. Olpe would add another score in the first half, behind Isaac Miller’s 12 yard rushing touchdown with 8:04 remaining in the second quarter.
Olpe would add a safety, taking a 15-0 lead into halftime.
Jayhawk Linn responded to begin the second half, behind a 90 yard kick return Ryan Broyles, trimming Olpe’s lead to 15-6.
Abbott Bailey would provide the response for the Eagles, scoring from 27 yards out with 9:49 left in the third.
Miller would add another rushing score in the fourth quarter before the final blow coming at the hands of Colton Redeker, with a 30 yard rushing score.
Miller led the Eagles with 17 carries for 100 yards, and added 45 yards receiving.
Miller credited his line up front for his performance.
Head Coach Chris Schmidt was pleased with how his team overcame key injuries and executed this evening.
Olpe will conclude district play on the road against Central Heights next week.
