Emporia State Univeristy’s Peterson Planetarium will be livestreaming the 2023 Annular Solar Eclipse Saturday.
The eclipse will be visible Saturday across portions of the Western Hemisphere in North, Central and South America as well as Mexico. The livestream will originate from Bottomless Lakes State Park 15 miles southest of Roswell New Mexico and will be overseen by ESU faculty member Mark Brown.
Brown joined the most recent installment of KVOE’s ESU Buzz to explain exactly what viewers will see with Saturday’s eclipse.
Brown says this is a very exciting opportunity for him as this will be the first annular eclipse viewable within the United States in nearly 30 years.
Brown is not the only individual excited for the eclipse as he says the park in New Mexico has been filling up fast with interested spectators. He tells KVOE News that there was so much interest in the eclipse he actually had to reserve his camping site well in advance of the event.
The live stream will be accessible online at Hornet365.com/hornetcams beginning at 10:10 am. Brown says the eclipse is expected to last for a little more than two hours.
