Unless things change, state courts will open with an old-school approach to filings Monday.
The Kansas Court System says the Office of Judicial Information is working with experts to determine the scope of an unspecified security incident that has “disrupted” court information systems since Thursday, including but not limited to the Kansas Courts eFiling system used by attorneys to file documents, the eCourt case management system used by district courts to process cases and the District Court Public Access Portal used by the general public and the media for basic information about indiviual court cases. Other affected systems:
*Kansas Protection Order Portal
*Appellate Case Inquiry System
*Kansas attorney registration
*Kansas online marriage license application system
*Central Payment Center
As the investigation continues, attorneys and other court users can submit filings by fax or on paper.
A status update is expected at some time Monday.
