All Veterans Tribute activities start in earnest early next month, and veterans banners now fly proudly in town.
Emporia Main Street Director Casey Woods tells KVOE News it’s an “awesome project” that has had staying power locally.
Over 260 banners now fly from Emporia State University down Commercial Street all the way to the All Veterans Memorial. Banners are flown four years and then retired, but residents have a chance to “reauthorize” a new banner if they choose.
