Emporia’s Underground Utilities Department is busy Monday morning — and yes, it means a water main repair.
Crews were alerted to a line break at Grove and Lawrence before 6:30 am. Repairs will begin around 8 am, so water pressure will be lowered in that immediate area until work begins — and service may be disrupted for the neighborhood at that point. The break site is just over a block west of Walnut School, but service will not be disrupted for the school Monday.
The intersection will be closed until further notice.
