Two members of the Emporia High girls golf team medaled at the Class 5A state golf tournament that wrapped up Tuesday at Carey Park in Hutchinson.
Sophomore Elise Eckert finished fifth with a score of 160. Eckert shot a 78 in her final round of the tournament. For Eckert, it’s her second medal at state after finishing in a tie for 14th as a freshman.
Senior Ella Fessler finished 16th with a score of 174. Fessler shot an 88 in the final round of her high school career.
Emporia High graduates Fessler and Nicole Dalton from this year’s team with Eckert and freshman Kelsey Shull returning for next fall.
