The security incident involving the Kansas court system remains unspecified. More importantly, it remains unresolved.
Courts remain open across the state, but clerks still can’t receive electronic filings or payments — meaning all filings still must be on paper, delivered by hand or mailed, or by fax. As a result, an order by the Kansas Supreme Court late Monday has declared clerk offices “inacessible,” thus allowing parties to seek court-ordered relief if their filings are not made in a timely manner.
The Kansas Courts eFiling system has been offline since Thursday, but much of the state court system’s online operations have ground to a halt due to this incident. At this stage, there is no official word on when things will return to normal.
