Saturday will be a big day for activities in general and for the Emporia Police Department’s Benefit Association in particular.
The Benefit Assocation has two events taking place at Jones Park, starting with the second annual Zombie Scramble disc golf tournament launching at 6:30 pm. Registration starts at 5 pm for the two-person scramble-style tournament. Entry fee is $15 a player and participants get a commemorative disc as part of the event.
Around dusk, the Benefit Association will have a free screening of the movie Hotel Transylvania near the park flagstand. Residents are asked to bring their own lawn chairs and blankets, but there will be a cash concession stand on site.
