With Boo in the Zoo coming soon, the David Traylor Zoo is getting ready for another holiday event down the road.
The zoo and Emporia Police Benefit Association are partnering on the annual Happy Holidaze and Toy Drive, which will be Nov. 21 at 5 pm. The event will feature the traditional lighting of the zoo’s holiday lights as well as a toy collection effort by police officers. who are requesting new and unwrapped toys for local children.
Boo in the Zoo, meanwhile, will be on Halloween from 4-5:30 pm. There will be numerous trick-or-treat stations through the zoo, as well as “spooky” activity stations and a chance to ride the “haunted” train, courtesy of the Sertoma Club.
Zoo Director Lisa Keith will be on KVOE’s Newsmaker segment at 7:20 am Thursday to talk about those upcoming events.
