After giving up the first goal of the game in the second half, the Emporia State soccer team scored ten seconds later on the way to picking up their third-straight win with a 2-1 decision over Central Oklahoma in Edmond on Sunday. After a scoreless first half, the Bronchos finally broke the tie by scoring with just under 35 minutes to play in the match. Ten seconds later, Hannah Woolery scored unassisted to tie the match. Hailey Sparks then broke free and gave the Lady Hornets the lead on an unassisted goal with just over 20 minutes to go. UCO earned a corner kick with just over five minutes to play but did not generate a shot in the game’s final 10 minutes. ESU has won four of its last five and has gone 6-1-1 over its last eight matches. The Lady Hornets improve to 7-5-4 with the win and improves to 6-2-1 inside ‘the Association’. E-State wraps up the regular season by completing its four-match road trip beginning on Friday at Nebraska-Kearney. Kickoff is set for 2:00 p.m.
