The Kansas Bureau of Investigation is looking into allegations of unspecified misconduct against a Wabaunsee County Sheriff’s Office employee.
KBI Communications Director Melissa Underwood says the request was made Oct. 12 by Undersheriff Eric Kirsch. While specifics of the case are not being announced at this time, Kirsch says, “I demand accountability and transparency in Kansas Peace Officers. As a private citizen, I would demand the same and would not trust any law enforcement agency to investigate itself.”
Underwood says more information will be released if the case progresses to an arrest or formal charges.
