Tuesday could well be a wet day across the KVOE listening area. And the rest of the area could be wet as well.
Showers and embedded storms are expected to begin Tuesday morning and continue periodically through Thursday night. Potential rainfall totals have been trimmed, but at least half an inch is expected for many area locations Tuesday. There could be up to 1.5 inches total by Thursday night.
Temperatures will cool noticeably as the week progresses. After temperatures in the 80s Monday, high temperatures Tuesday through Thursday will be in the 70s. Highs will be in the mid-60s Friday and in the 50s for the weekend.
KVOE and KVOE.com will have updates.
The extended period of rain chances follows a warm day Monday. In fact, the 88-degree high reset the daily record for the Emporia Municipal Airport. The previous record was 85 degrees in 2012.
