The security issues affecting the Kansas courts online system are now getting state and federal attention.
The Kansas Bureau of Investigation says it is working with unspecified federal partners to determine why numerous online components have been down for well over a week. Attorneys and staffers have had to file motions by fax, hand or mail with the electronic filing system offline. Other affected systems:
*eCourt case management system
*District Court Public Access Portal
*Kansas Protection Order Portal
*Appellate Case Inquiry System
*Kansas attorney registration
*Kansas online marriage license application system
*Central Payment Center
A status report on the investigation and a timetable for the online court system returning to normal operations are both pending.
