Emporia Public Schools’ Community Relations Department says an investigation is underway into an allegedly inappropriate social media comment.
Community Relations says the alleged comment was about a potential weapon at Emporia High. School administrators and Security Officer Todd Ayer have been talking with possible witnesses and reviewing video. They have also been increasing supervision, but the early indication is any threat does not appear to be credible. Students are safe.
Community Relations says Emporia Police is involved. Details are pending.
