Pre-election activities continue, and that includes a special voting opportunity for Lyon County voters Saturday.
The now-annual offsite voter election event will be at the Fairgrounds Anderson Building from 9 am to 1 pm. Lyon County Clerk and Election Officer Tammy Vopat says it’s designed to help voters who may not otherwise get to the polls because of their schedules.
After in-person advance voting began at the Lyon County Courthouse this past Monday, in-person voting continues through the rest of Friday and then resumes from 8 am to 5 pm Monday-Friday next week. In-person advance voting ends at noon Nov. 6, the day before the general election Nov. 7.
If you plan to mail your ballot and haven’t requested that paperwork, the deadline is Halloween. For the ballot to be valid, it has to be mailed and postmarked by Election Day.
Be sure to look at KVOE’s General Election Information page at KVOE.com, sponsored by Community National Bank. That web page has information about the different positions and special questions on the ballot, as well as polling places and upcoming dates of note. And be sure to listen to KVOE and KVOE.com on Election Night for developing results and candidate reactions.
