Remember the 80s? As in the high temperatures we had Oct. 20 and Oct. 22? Those appear to be gone for a while.
Sharply cooler temperatures are coming, starting Friday. After highs near 90 degrees, overnight lows will be 31 degrees Saturday night, in the 20s Sunday night and Monday night and in the upper teens Halloween night.
Freeze warnings are up for Morris and Wabaunsee counties from 10 pm Friday to 10 am Saturday. Overnight lows could be in the 20s.
Rainfall Saturday afternoon could turn into a wintry mix Saturday night. Potential travel impacts are currently pending and largely depend on overnight temperatures and accumulation totals of sleet or snow.
Current indications are the cooler conditions will remain through at least late next week.
