A boil water advisory in place since midweek has been lifted for residents in Chase County.
The advisory was issued by the Kansas Department of Health and Environment following a water main break in Cottonwood Falls early Wednesday morning. The advisory affected water customers in Chase County Rural Water District One, Cottonwood Falls and Strong City.
Despite having service restored to all customers by Thursday, KDHE maintained the advisory until samples could be tested. Those tests showed no signs of bacterial contamination and the advisory was lifted early Saturday afternoon.
