Senior quarterback Braden Gleason and redshirt freshman defensive back Tyler Schultze won weekly MIAA honors in football this week following Emporia State’s Homecoming win over Nebraska-Kearney on Saturday. Gleason was named the Offensive Player of the Week for the third time this season after matching his career high with five touchdown passes. He also broke Braxton Marstall’s Hornet record for career total offense in the game. Tyler Schultze won his first weekly award after recovering a muffed kickoff in the end zone for a touchdown and blocking a punt.
