Kansas State’s Huck Boyd National Institute for Rural Development is recognizing two local women for their diversity work with a special awards ceremony in Manhattan this week.
Hispanics of Today and Tomorrow members Rebeca Herrera and Patricia Saenz-Reyes are being recognized for their with HOTT, especially to fund scholarships for local Hispanic students pursuing higher education.
Also, Flint Hills Books owner Jennifer Kassebaum is being noted in entrepreneurship and business development after retiring as an attorney and then opening the independent bookstore in Council Grove.
K-State says the Huck Boyd Institute Leaders of the Year are selected by entrepreneurship students in K-State’s College of Business and ag communications students in the College of Agriculture. The celebration will be Thursday at the K-State Student Union.
