Advance voting is ending for Lyon County voters very soon.
In-office advance voting at the Lyon County Clerk’s office will conclude at noon Monday. According to Lyon County Clerk Tammy Vopat, advanced voting numbers were lower this year versus year’s past both in office and during the recent offsite event at the Lyon County Fairgrounds Anderson Building. Vopat tells KVOE News they had 624 individuals take advantage of both opportunities as of Friday afternoon reflecting a three percent turnout overall.
Of the 470 advance mail ballots sent out to local voters, nearly 230 have been returned. Mail ballots can still be counted so long as they are returned and postmarked by election day.
Election day is Tuesday with polls open from 7 am to 7 pm. For more information on the general election including positions and polling place information visit KVOE’s General Election Information page sponsored by Community National Bank at KVOE.com.
