There were more than enough pancakes to go around at the Lyon County Fairgrounds Anderson Building Saturday morning, and thankfully so.
The Emporia Christian School had a lot of hungry mouths to feed during its annual Pancake Feed which saw more than 650 attendees. The fundraiser brought in a grand total of nearly $10,000 for the school which is exactly what they were hoping for according to ECS PTO Secretary Marcy Shirk.
Shirk says the money raised from the breakfast and silent auction will be going towards technology improvements at the school.
Shirk says the pancake breakfast runs very efficiently each year and that’s largely because the entire ECS family chips in to help.
After using proceeds for the aforementioned technology improvements, Shirk says any remaining funds will go to support ECS staff and students.
