Once again, USD 252 Southern Lyon County is marshaling forces for Honor Flight.
The trip to Washington, DC, and back begins with the departure from Olpe High School before 2:30 am Monday, returning late Tuesday night — and several students making the trip were on KVOE’s Morning Show recently. Hartford’s Lexi Geisken-Mears is making her first trip as part of Honor Flight.
Fellow Hartford student Trinity Windle has one thing in mind as she departs: showing appreciation.
Olpe’s Kadey Robert is on her second Honor Flight. She’s looking forward to “all of it,” especially the chance to give back to the veterans on the trip.
This is also the second Honor Flight trip for fellow Olpe student Grace Coughlin.
This is the 12th trip for the district, pairing students with veterans to see a lot of memorials, landmarks and national attractions in and near the nation’s capital. To this point, USD 252 has taken around 280 veterans to Washington, DC, for Honor Flight.
