Chase County is in a dense fog advisory until 11 am, following an advisory for Morris and Wabaunsee counties that ended at 9 am. Visibility could be under a quarter-mile in some locations. Outside the alert box, there have been reports of significantly reduced visibility before 9 am:
*Five miles north of Emporia: 20 feet
*Junction of Kansas Highway 99 and Kansas Highway 170: Under two car lengths
*Osage City: Half a block
*Strong City: Under three car lengths
Drivers are told to slow down, use low-beam headlights and increase the driving distances between vehicles if they encounter fog.
