No injuries were reported and no transports were needed, however, a vehicle was a total loss after a fire south of Emporia Saturday morning.
According to the Emporia Fire Department, a non-injury accident was reported in the 1000 block of Road 130, roughly four miles south of Emporia, just before 5 am. After arriving on scene, Lyon County Sheriff’s Deputies noted the vehicle was on fire prompting a response from the Emporia Fire Department.
The vehicle was fully engulfed in flames by the time EFD arrived at the scene. The flames were extinguished quickly and the driver, a currently unnamed female, did not require medical transport from the scene.
Initial indications were that the vehicle had struck a power pole in the area. EFD says the vehicle did strike a series of trees and a fence, however, the power pole was untouched.
The Lyon County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the accident.
