Junior outside hitter Sandora Sasaki is the MIAA Offensive Player for the fifth time as the Lady Hornets enter the postseason this week. Sasaki hit .340 last week on the way to averaging over 5 kills per set as Emporia State fell at Washburn in four sets Monday before punching their ticket to MIAA Madness with a sweep at Newman on Thursday. Sasaki has seven matches with at least 20 kills on the year which ties Kendra Dawson for second most in program history. Sasaki averaged 4.81 kills per set this season which set a program record. She had two matches this year with at least 30 kills. The Lady Hornets are the No. 8 seed in the MIAA Tournament and face top seed Central Missouri in the first round at the Civic Arena in St. Joseph, Mo. The Jennies swept ESU this season with a four-set win in Warrensburg, Mo. before escaping with a five-set win in Emporia in October.
