Lyon County Treasurer Sharon Gaede expects phone lines will be busy in her office beginning next week.
The reason? Tax statements, which went out this week to county residents. This year, the Treasurer’s Office went with a new vendor, which means a different layout and a chance to set up an online account for payments.
The statements will have a special insert detailing how residents can set up their online accounts if they choose to do so. Once the online account is set up, Gaede says residents can track their information on enoticesonline.com.
The first half of the tax statement balance is due by Dec. 20, although residents can pay in full if they like. The second-half payment is due by May 10, and the full balance is due if residents miss the first-half deadline next month.
The county does its best to mail statements for real estate, personal property, oil and gas, utility and trucks with gross vehicle weights between 12,000-20,000 pounds as close to Nov. 1 as possible. If you have questions, call 620-341-3255.
