A big time for the Salvation Army of Emporia begins Saturday.
The annual bell-ringing and holiday fundraising campaign begins this weekend, and Capt. Mylie Hadden says this period begins with a lot of people needing help locally and areawide.
The campaign kicks off with a special media challenge. KVOE staffers will be at kettles inside Bluestem Farm and Ranch from 9 am to noon Saturday.
The campaign ends Dec. 23. Hadden says bell ringers are needed. People can sign up for the various kettle locations and choose their times at registertoring.com.
