As promised, Sunday was a wet day and Monday looks to offer more of the same conditions.
Several locations in Emporia got close to an inch of rainfall Sunday, including 1.1 inches at the KVOE studios. Other totals:
*Emporia Municipal Airport: 0.75 inches
*3 miles east of Emporia Municipal Airport: 0.90 inches
*1100 block Constitution: 0.95 inches
*1700 block Wheeler: 0.90 inches
*10th and Weaver: 0.80 inches
*Deerbrook Addition: 0.70 inches
*South and Sylvan: 1 inch
*Allen: 0.80 inches
*Between Hartford and Olpe: 1 inch
*Lamont: 1.2 inches
*4 miles north of Madison: 0.80 inches
*Reading Lake: 1.25 inches
*Toledo: 1.07 inches
It’s the first measurable precipitation for the KVOE listening area since some locations got close to a foot of rain between Oct. 25-29. The National Weather Service expects an additional 0.30 by the time the rainfall ends by mid-evening.
The rest of the week will be dry and cool with temperatures in the 40s and 50s, including sunny and dry conditions for Thanksgiving with a high of 54.
