Emporia State senior quarterback Braden Gleason has been nominated for the Harlon Hill Trophy. Gleason is one of 38 finalists for the award given to the best player in NCAA Division II. Gleason was named First Team All-MIAA at quarterback after leading the country in completion percentage and setting the MIAA record with 109 touchdown passes while setting a program record with 41 passing touchdowns this year. Gleason is vying to become the second Hornet to win the award after Brian Shay won the 1998 Harlon Hill award. The Hornets are headed to a third straight bowl game in the Funtown RV Heritage Bowl set for December 2. Kickoff is scheduled for noon with pregame coverage beginning at 11:00 a.m. on Mix 104.9.
