The city of Eureka is receiving $140,000 in federal funds to reduce injury and fatal crashes in the city. There is also a 15 percent match included from the state.
The money comes through the Safe Streets and Roads for All grant program. Cities have to develop transportation safety action plans, with the goal of eliminating fatalities and sharply reducing injury crashes.
Over $1.4 million total is going to a handful of selected cities across Kansas with this announcement.
