A longstanding highway reconstruction project northwest of Emporia is finally finished.
The Kansas Department of Transportation is reopening Kansas Highway 177 from Council Grove to the Kansas Highway 4 junction points in Wabaunsee County on Wednesday.
Work actually began early last year. The project cost over $50 million to complete.
