A strong Emporia tradition continued Thursday as community members had an opportunity to get a free meal.
Emporia’s Church of Christ held its annual Thanksgiving community meal. This was the 33rd annual meal put on by the church. Pastor Neil Taylor says it’s important for the church to keep hosting the meal on a yearly basis.
Taylor says the turnout for the event ranged from regulars to community members who didn’t want to cook or were in need of a meal.
Community members could dine in for a traditional holiday meal with all the trimmings or even take their meals for carryout.
