One person was brought to Newman Regional Health for treatment after a crash on the Kansas Turnpike southwest of Emporia early Friday morning.
The Kansas Hgihway Patrol says the wreck happened just at 1 am at mile marker 118 northbound, near the Lyon-Chase county line and almost 10 miles southwest of Emporia.
Troopers say an SUV driven by 54-year-old Jamie Jeanette Rader of Wellington hit a deer that was crossing the highway. Rader had suspected minor injuries, while two passengers had no apparent injuries. All three were wearing seatbelts at the time of the crash.
