The Lady Hornet basketball team used an early 13-0 run to take a double-digit lead they never gave back in a 100-37 victory over Avila at White Auditorium on Monday night. The teams traded baskets early before ESU scored 11 straight to end the first quarter up 26-12. After shooting 5-for-12 in the first quarter, the Eagles managed just 7 field goals on 43 attempts the rest of the game including a 1-for-15 effort in the 3rd quarter. ESU went on a 38-7 run that spanned over 15 minutes of the second half to pick up their second win of the season and move to 2-3 on the year. Faith Paramore notched her second double-double of the season with 18 points and 10 rebounds while Queen Ulabo pulled down a career-high 12 boards. Tylieea Wallace scored a personal best 16 points while Gracie Gilpin notched new career highs in points (14), 3-pointers (4), and assists (6). Head coach Brian Ostermann said the team was locked in defensively.
