An internet service provider offering services to Greenwood County has received substantial grant funding for its work.
Kansas Governor Laura Kelly says IdeaTek is getting almost $880,000 from the state’s Broadband Acceleration Grant program. IdeaTek is offering a nearly $1.9 million grant to help connect almost 1,500 locations to broadband.
The grant program is a 10-year, $85 million effort to bring what the state calls “essential internet access” to cities and towns across Kansas. This round of funding involves $5 million in grants to eight providers. Since 2020, the program has distributed over $31 million for broadband expansion.
