The weather should be OK this weekend — which gives you a chance to “Continue a Chase County Country Christmas” on Saturday.
Moderate to heavy snowfall prompted event organizers to tentatively cancel certain activities, including the courthouse lighting ceremony, appearance by Santa Claus and parade. Those have now gone from canceled to rescheduled. Activities go from 9:30 am to past 6 pm, with highlights including separate appearances by Santa and Mrs Claus, commemorative gifts, several open houses, courthouse tours, Christmas carols, the courthouse lighting at 5:30 pm and the parade at 5:35 pm.
The Tallgrass Prairie National Preserve, which postponed its Old-Fashioned Prairie Christmas, will have that event Saturday.
Chase County Chamber Director Toni Schneider will have a preview on KVOE’s Newsmaker 2 segment at 8:20 am Friday.
