Junior outside hitter Sandora Sasaki has been named First Team All-Region by the D2CCCA on Tuesday. Sasaki is the first Lady Hornet to earn regional recognition since 2010. Sasaki was a unanimous First Team All-MIAA pick after leading the league with 503 kills and averaging 4.8 kills per set. Sasaki had seven matches of at least 20 kills this season and ranked third in the country in kills per set. Sasaki is the first Lady Hornet to earn All-Region honors since Brittney Miller and Ting Liu both did it in the same season. ESU won nine more games this year than last season finishing 13-16 and 7-13 inside MIAA play.
