E-State Football Places Two on All-Region Team

Two Hornets have been named to the 2023 All-Super Region 3 Football Team by the D2CCA.  Junior wideout Tyler Kahmann was named First Team All-Region while senior punter Ross Brungardt was named Second Team All-Region.  Kahmann led the country in touchdown receptions this season while setting the Emporia State single-season record with 18 touchdowns.  Brungardt was named the MIAA Special Teams Player of the Year and led the MIAA in punting average with 17 punts of at least 50 yards this season.  The Hornets end their season Saturday in the 2023 Fun Town RV Heritage Bowl against Southern Nazarene.  It is Emporia State’s third-straight appearance in a bowl game.  Kickoff is set for noon in Corsicana, Texas with pregame coverage beginning at 11:00 a.m. on Mix 104.9.  Listen online at kvoe.com/listen or via the Audacy app.
