The theme was Continuing a Chase County Country Christmas, and activities filled the Saturday schedule countywide Saturday.
Heavy snowfall forced the Chase County Chamber of Commerce to tentatively cancel several key activities the prior weekend, but the decision was made by midweek to reschedule instead of cancel. Here’s Chase County Chamber Director Toni Schneider:
There were appearances of Santa and Mrs Claus, a number of open houses, Christmas caroling and tours of the historic Chase County Courthouse before the annual Courthouse lighting ceremony and parade. Pioneer Bluffs and the Tallgrass Prairie National Preserve also had activities postponed by the snowfall from a week earlier.
