Red Rocks State Historic Site hosted many residents for a festive Sunday afternoon event.
“Christmas at the White House” welcomed dozens of residents to the historic home for an afternoon of tours, refreshments and live entertainment all celebrating the holiday season.
Outgoing William Allen White Community Partnership President Les Lauber says Sunday’s activities are the partnership’s Christmas gift to the Emporia community.
Lauber adds, they also want the event to be historically accurate to when the White family occupied the home.
Performances included a string quartet, Christmas carols from the Emporia High School Chorale, and Emporia Children’s Choir selections.
