The Kansas Department of Transportation has approved several road and bridge projects for the KVOE listening area.
The Lyon County project is a bridge repair over Road 173 just over a mile east of the Interstate 35-Kansas Highway 130 junction. PCI Roads of Saint Michael, Minnesota, won the contract with a bid of over $133,000.
Chase County has a milling and overlay project for US Highway 50 from near Strong City to Saffordville. Nearly 10 miles of pavement will be replaced. Pearson Construction of Wichita is the contractor after a bid of over $4 million.
In Greenwood County, crack repair is slated from the Kansas Highway 99-US Highway 400 junction south to the Elk County line, with more crack repair continuing further south into Elk County. This will affect nearly 20 miles of highway. Pavement Pros of McPherson is the contract winner after submitting a nearly $75,000 bid.
Construction timetables have not been released with any of these three work zones.
