Emporia Fire is still investigating the blaze that heavily damaged an Emporia home and hospitalized two people on Thanksgiving.
The incident at 205 South Constitution caused extensive fire damage to the east third of the house as well as smoke and water damage throughout the home.
The two people hurt in the fire suffered “significant” burns, according to the fire department. Both were initially taken to Newman Regional Health for treatment. At least one has been confirmed as being transferred to KU Medical Center in Kansas City, Kansas, for additional treatment. Names have not been released.
The cause remains under investigation and the source point has not been divulged.
