Graves Pharmacy will officially close at the end of business hours Monday.
That’s according to Owner and President Melissa Daniels who confirmed the pharmacy’s closure effective 6 pm Monday. Daniels would add that while the pharmacy is at an end, the remainder of the business will continue for a little longer.
Daniels says the liquidation process could take into early 2024 to complete.
For those concerned about where to fill their prescriptions in the future, Daniels says not to worry as Walgreens has now taken over those services from here on out.
Daniels tells KVOE News the decision to close the business followed the passing of her father, former owner and pharmacist, Glenn Hadaway back in July.
As for the future of the storefront, Daniels says no sale has been finalized, however, they are looking for buyers at this time. Graves opened its doors back in the early 1970s and, until Monday, was one of only two locally owned pharmacies in Emporia alongside Haag Pharmacy.
