The Emporia High boys swim and dive team finished fifth at the Shawnee Mission West Invitational on Tuesday.
Logan Woydziak was the top performer for the Spartans. He led the Spartans to a fourth-place finish with a state consideration time in the 200-yard freestyle relay with Ian Navarro, Shane Anderson, and Tyler Luthi. His time in his leg of the relay gave him a consideration time in the 50-yard freestyle. Woydziak also finished fourth in the 100-yard breaststroke and fifth in the 200-yard individual medley.
Other top finishes for Emporia High included the 200-yard medley relay team of Brayden Sweet, Woydziak, Anderson and Luthi finished fifth. Anderson finished fifth in the 100-yard butterfly. Navarro finished fourth in the 500-yard freestyle. The 400-yard freestyle relay team of Navarro, Owen Dawson, Luke Marshall and Brayden Shaw finished fifth.
Emporia High is off until January 4th when the swimmers host a meet at EHS, while the divers return to action on January 5th at Wichita North.
