Family Promise of the Flint Hills is ending its operations at the end of the year.
In a statement posted to its Facebook page, the organization said it discussed challenges that led the board to discontinue the program by unanimous vote, including a lack of director after the resignation of Jessica Corpening early this year, board member attrition, funding stability and mission overlap with other local and area agencies.
Family Promise began its operations in 2017 and started helping families in 2021. Through this year, the agency helped almost 270 adults and children at risk of homelessness by helping families work towards secure housing.
