CareArc is advising patients who have used Graves Drugs for medications there will be some changes as that service transfers to Walgreens.
CareArc and Graves had partnered for years on offering the 340B federal discount program. CareArc says Graves patients wlll need to visit Walgreens if they want to get discounted meds through the 340B program.
Also, Walgreens will offer 340B to Graves customers upon request — something specified by CareArc in a news release late Monday — but it does not offer the CareArc sliding fee discount on its dispensing fee, so that cost and the overall medication price will be higher than they have been for Graves customers.
CareArc says it is working to establish the sliding fee discount option for uninsured patients at all its partner pharmacies where the discount is not currently in place, but approvals could take three to four months to complete.
CareArc CEO Renee Hively thanked Graves for its years of service and commitment to the community, saying, “We are grateful for the positive impact they’ve had on the lives of our patients and the invaluable partnership we’ve shared.”
