An Emporia man suffered potentially serious injuries and an Allen woman was also hurt in a three-vehicle wreck in Morris County on Tuesday morning.
The wreck developed at the intersection of Kansas Highway 177 and South 875 Road near the north end of Council Grove Lake shortly before 7:45 am. Troopers with the Kansas Highway Patrol say a southbound pickup driven by 29-year-old Garrett Ellis of Alta Vista went left of center for unlisted reasons and sideswiped a northbound SUV driven by 62-year-old Brenda Blair of Allen. Ellis continued southbound and went head-on into a second SUV driven by 70-year-old William Gilliam of Emporia.
Gilliam was taken to Stormont-Vail Hospital in Topeka with suspected serious injuries, while Blair was taken to Morris County Hospital in Council Grove with suspected minor injuries. Ellis was not hurt.
